A lot of HOSA members are high school students and enrolled in the healthcare courses such as health occupations, healthcare staffing, health science courses.  These HOSA members may also be train as certified nursing assistants or first responders.  The courses involves activities that may help HOSA members develop mental and social skills needed to work in the healthcare staffing industry or agencies..

They learn from healthcare professionals, healthcare business employers such as healthcare staffing agency, nursing agency, non medical and medical home service providers, hospitals, and nursing homes. They are introduce to healthcare organizations such as nursing agency organizations and associations, healthcare staffing organization.
